The fall 2020 Learning Support (un)Academy will be a virtual event focused on the lessons learned and challenges that remain with hybrid and online Learning Support. The event will provide opportunities to share ideas and engage in discipline-specific conversations with peers from across the state.
This fall’s event will feature a general session, two discipline specific breakouts, and a panel and roundtable discussion of success strategies for supporting students in corequisite courses online.

Integrating Reading into the Corequisite Learning Support Course Miriam Moore, Assistant Professor of English, University of North Georgia In this session, participants will discuss ways to support corequisite students in academic reading. Three basic concepts frame the scaffolding activities we will discuss:
During the session, participants will identify a sequence of scaffolding activities to help struggling readers, based on these concepts. Participants are encouraged to bring a favorite (or particularly difficult) reading assignment along for discussion!

Supporting Coordination through Common Calendars Tamela D. Randolph, Dean, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Southeast Missouri State University
During this session, we will discuss alignment of corequisite courses and pathway courses as well as alignment across different sections of the same courses. Participants will explore a concrete, schedule-based approach to ensuring the opportunity for “just-in-time” and targeted support regardless of corequisite alignment approach.
