The Capstone is the final embedded experience built into GC Journeys. To “Complete Your Journey” for Capstone, students must successfully complete the capstone course for their program/major. Experiences will be determined by the requirements of the department/major.

Research situation for English language learners (ELLs) in ENGL 1101 through the administration of surveys to students.

From this research, we may create a project to provide additional ELL support to ENGL 1101 faculty and/or students.

Align academic advising systems, protocols, and training to ensure that students receive consistent, timely, and proactive support throughout their academic programs.

Support students financially through the enhanced use of data, coordinated student communications and outreach across units, and initiatives to address financial stop-outs and students losing HOPE.

Research the possibilities of instituting inclusive textbook access – the idea that students would receive all digital course materials at a discounted rate, directly billed as part of their tuition. This model supports student academic success and retention efforts by ensuring every student is prepared on or before the first day of class.

An alternative presented by our textbook provider is branded as “equitable” access – the idea that students could pay a flat rate each semester for all course materials, print or digital.

Augusta University has a robust, multi-year plan to promote student retention and graduation utilizing the Four-to-Finish principles of Mindset, Purpose, Pathways and Engagement. Over the previous years, AU has implemented new strategies to support enrollment growth, and most recently created holistic student support structures organized by meta-majors.

In preparation for the Momentum VI Summit, ABAC’s CCG team identified a data gap in the institution’s ability to capture what its graduates were doing after graduation, including workforce-related data. To help close this gap, the College incorporated Career Services into its Strategic Plan, which is also tied to USG’s Student Career Development initiative as part of their Strategic Plan 2029.

An extension of Mid-Term Conversations, ASU-Turn Academy focuses on students who are academic probation or who have been re-admitted.  Students are asked to engage for the semester in weekly meetings to learn specific success strategies and reflect on challenges from the previous semester.
